Ailu is a Canadian ethereal alternative pop artist who writes music inspired by fantasy, magic, and mythology, which she lovingly calls sad elf pop.
For Ailu, world building is at the forefront, and every song has it's own unique place in the realm. Stunning visuals accompany the music, pulling you in and giving you a place to rest away from reality for a moment.
As the writer, performer, designer, and producer, she ensures every note rings with emotion.
Long Bio
Ailu is an independent artist from Ottawa, Canada, who makes music lovingly described as sad elf pop- a magic blend of alt-pop, dreampop, sad girl, and ethereal music, with whimsical lyrics that will make you feel like you're in a fantasy world.
As a songwriter, singer, harpist / multi-instrumentalist, and producer, Ailu hand crafts every aspect of her art. Being so inspired by the fantasy genre, it wasn't enough to just create the audio- she imagined and realized an entire world around her music, where every song has an X on the map, and stunning 3D visuals to transport you to the realm that the music resides in.
Ailu released her first EP, Dragon Fruit, in August of 2024; a collection of 7 songs focused on the theme of escapism. A perfect introduction to her world, you can look forward to continuing the adventure in 2025, with many new sights to see.
